Roles and responsibilities
- Perform system administration tasks.
- Improve existing automation technology.
- Implement new technologies to improve existing systems.
- Provide technical support for local office.
- Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
- Coordinate with the product engineering team to improve the quality of service
- Manage expectations of open-source community with respect to our commitments
- Communicate feedback from open-source community back into the product engineering team
Qualifications
- Passion for computer server system (Linux) administration.
- Ability to learn quickly.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Knowledge of software engineering.
Literacy in at least one African language will be an added advantage.
Other useful skills
- Excellent reading/writing skills in at least 2 languages (English+1 other)
- PHP/MySQL experience
- CSS/HTML experience
- Javascript experience
- Ability to troubleshoot technical products
- Ability to write clear documentation
- Ability to plan work and complete on schedule
